We bought a house in need of extensive renovation and some reconfiguration. Whilst still buying it, we spoke to a number of builders, and then sent out plans and an outline of ideas to about 10 builders. We short listed 3 builders who met with us at the house between exchange and completion.

Daniel Moore (Red Designs Ltd) stood out from the outset. He showed us previous jobs he had completed and customers were happy to talk with us.

Throughout, we saw interesting, well completed work. He listened to what we wanted, made suggestions of his own and we could tell that this was a builder with good design ideas as well as sound working principles. We went with him even though he was not the cheapest, because we felt we’d get a home that was as well designed as possible, within our budget.

As is always the way, once the work began, we could see that additional work would be needed and agreed it with Daniel. Despite the extra work, Daniel still delivered the house to us, ready to be cleaned and moved into on the date we’d initially agreed to in the contract. Most importantly, the work was done properly and no short cuts were taken. We love the new kitchen that we’ve got, it’s beautiful and functional. Our bathrooms feel really special. Even our outside pipe work was done to higher than average standards.

There was a lot of work done in 13 weeks and as could be expected, there were some snags that needed resolving that only really became clear when we moved in. Each snag was dealt with promptly and efficiently. The quality of work was high throughout.
